Records requests

• NHDES Annual Facility Reports for facility 3184, five years. RSA 91-A request sent 2026-09-06. Status: pending.
  • Tonnage by material, including glass.
  • Destinations for anything shipped off site.
  • Whether on-site glass use shows up at all.

Calls

• Talk to the recycling center manager. Done in person 2026-09-09: glass has never moved and is planned as town gravel fill; cans and jugs accumulate until a pickup makes sense, next shipment in the 2026-27 reporting; film goes to Trex.
  • Still open: tons in the glass pile.
  • Still open: whether steel cans and scrap metal are in the Casella contract.

• Look behind the recycling center for the glass pile.

Research

• Identify who ran the past Peterborough bags-to-benches drive. Answer: the Lions Club, until about 2025, per the center manager.
• Styrofoam: is the Gilford arrangement a contract, a fee, or a revenue share, and who hauls it?
• The company that takes the baled recyclables. Answer: Casella, under contract, for everything from the drop-off windows.
  • Still open: do steel cans and the scrap metal pile go through Casella too, or to a separate scrap buyer?
  • Still open: which Casella facility, Rutland VT or Charlestown MA?
• Antrim comparison through its own Annual Facility Reports. Does its separated plastic really ride with the trash?
• Add a citation for the Vermont crushed-glass pile investigation.
