Two more years of town numbers, and a second conversation confirmed
The town's DPW Recycling Division annual reports for 2024 and 2025 turned up on the town site. 2024 has a full breakdown: 1,372 tons processed, 468 recycled, $63,169.39 in revenue, and $57,096 in disposal fees avoided, which works out to about $122 a ton. That replaces the $85 regional estimate this site had been using. Aluminum cans did ship in 2024: 15 tons for $18,426.40. PET, HDPE, and steel cans did not. A new storage building went up behind the center that year. 2025 has totals only: 1,054 tons processed, $59,183.43 revenue, $33,062 avoided.
Correction: the 2023 sheet's tire figure is fees collected at drop-off, not a sale, and in 2024 tires were a $2,771 expenditure. The textiles and tires page said the opposite and has been fixed.
From a second conversation with the center manager: everything that goes into the drop-off windows (paper, cardboard, bottles and jugs, cans, newspaper) goes to Casella under a town contract. Film goes straight to Trex. The glass sale to the town is down the road; he's looking at a machine to crush it finer, possibly a decade out, and says there's no cap on the glass the center can hold. The Lions Club ran the Bags to Benches drive until about 2025 and stopped when Trex switched from a guaranteed bench to a lottery.
Styrofoam, collected since December 27, 2024, is trucked to Gilford's foam hub and densified into polystyrene ingots for picture frames and moldings. That's a town-to-town arrangement separate from Casella; the terms are unknown.

In person with the recycling center manager confirmed
Three answers from a conversation at the center. Glass: the pile has never been moved. The plan is to sell it to the town as gravel fill, including buffer around water piping. Cans and jugs: they get packed and held until there's enough for a pickup to make sense, so 2023's zeros are accumulation, not absence; the next shipment will show in the 2026-27 reporting. Film: it goes to Trex for decking.
Still to get: the cans buyer's name, the glass tonnage, and the buyers for PET, cardboard, and paper. The glass, plastic bottles, film, and metal pages are updated, with these statements tagged as the manager's, in person.

What 2M Ressources actually does with NRRA glass confirmed
A reader asked whether the plant near Montreal melts the glass or just crushes it. Answer: it doesn't melt. 2M Ressources crushes, cleans, and sorts the glass by color, then sells the cullet to manufacturers in the United States who melt it, mostly into fiberglass insulation. NRRA also reports 2M opened a second plant in Hopedale, Massachusetts in 2021, with output headed for new bottles and jars as well as fiberglass. The glass page now says so, with both sources.

Records request sent to NHDES pending
Sent a right-to-know request under RSA 91-A for five years of Annual Facility Reports for facility 3184, the Peterborough Recycling Center. Asked specifically for tonnage by material, including glass, and destinations for anything shipped off site.
What to watch for: NHDES's own working group says these reports don't capture everything (a form revision is targeted for 2027), and glass crushed and used on site may not appear at all, since the form tracks movement more than on-site use. Thin glass data would itself support the on-site aggregate conclusion. Either outcome gets logged here.
